Spare Ribs

Ingredients

  • 12 spare ribs
  • 4 onions
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 4 garlic cloves crushed
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sage
  • 1 tbsp rosemay
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Dice the onions and crush the garlic. Saute for 10 mins until soft.
  • Add the tomato paste, salt, pepper, beef stock cube, soy sauce, sage, rosemary and mustard seeds. Simmer for 5 mins.
  • Add the tin of chopped tomatoes and bring to the boil.
  • Cover the ribs with sauce and marinade as long as possible.
  • Cook for 1 hour +, covered in foil for the first half hour.

Notes

For slow cooker - cook on low for 7-8 hours. Add extra water if doing for more than 4 hours. Serve with rice and corn.
